“As an international student, the experience itself was the prize for me.”

Kenneth is a student from our Malaysian education partner IACT College, and studied his third year of the Bachelor of Advertising and Marketing Communication in Canberra. During his study, he enjoyed the different teaching style. “The learning approach is different from Malaysia. Here, they give you the required information and how well you do in your study, depends on your own initiative. This approach really prepares you for the workforce.”

Kenneth also had the opportunity to enter the International Advertising Association (IAA) Australia’s ‘Big Idea’ competition. His team was one of the finalists and came close to winning the competition. “The experience was a lot more rewarding. As an international student, the experience itself was the prize for me. It was certainly one of the highlights of my university life at UC.”

As he contemplates his time spent in Canberra, like most international students, he finds it hard to leave. “Just the other day I went to Lake Ginninderra and for the first time I captured a beautiful sunset. Canberra is like a hidden gem, you have to look hard to see its beauty.” Kenneth is happy that he has accomplished a lot during his time at UC. He has already been offered a job with Nestle Malaysia.
