I came here from Ontario, Canada and my experience here has been amazing. Even from the start in orientation week they really got students involved with the campus and the school in the activities they had on and off campus. We got to meet lots of other Australian and international students.

There are great social networks so you can get involved with things that you like. I ended up playing AFL which was totally unfamiliar to me. I played for the Lismore Swans – and had the best time, the guys made me feel so welcome and they are now my best mates. It’s really just been awesome.

My teachers at Southern Cross University have been amazing; they are just so passionate about what they are teaching. They want to produce quality teachers who really care about the students and who want to go out and make a difference. I felt that from day one.

I would 100 per cent recommend Southern Cross University to students. The teachers are so passionate and I really respect that and they want us to succeed. The location, particularly the Lismore campus, is so beautiful and offers many things to do in the surrounding areas like Byron Bay, Lennox Head or the Gold Coast, so if you want to get away for the weekend it’s really easy to get there.
